But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (1 Corinthians 1:30)
God is the one who chose us from the foundation of the world. He chose us as the foolish things of the world so that, in Christ, His wisdom would be declared. Christ has become our divine wisdom, which is our righteousness, holiness, and our redemption. Though we might be of little value in the world's eyes, we are of the vastest worth in God's eyes-for it was Christ Himself who gave His life to redeem us.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12)
The right to become God's own children! Halleluiah! How blessed are we who believe! To become children of God's right hand, adopted into everlasting glory, is such a wondrous act of mercy that we can only respond with praise never-ceasing! Holy, holy, holy is our Lord! Hallelujah! Rejoice!

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
When we accepted Christ, our sinful nature was crucified upon the cross and Christ became our life. Our life here on earth has changed; we no longer have sinful goals. Instead, we desire to further the kingdom of Christ.
My Prayer: I praise You, Lord, for the awesome God that You are! Thank You for Your wonderful salvation! Continue to change my heart and make me more like You.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:11)
Our lives prior to our personal redemption consisted of various backgrounds—some of which were very carnal (see the list in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Yet as Christians, those are now things of the past and should no longer control us. We have been washed! When we became Christians, we were cleansed of our sins. Sanctification is the process of setting us apart for God and growing in righteousness. Lastly, we were justified because of Christ's work and atonement. Our destination is not eternal bondage of sin and grief, but by the grace of God, we have a heavenly destination! A place of eternal joy and everlasting peace!

Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he [is] God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; (Deuteronomy 7:9)
God is faithful! He has been and always will be faithful! How wondeful that we can count upon His promises!
My Prayer: O Lord, thank you for being faithful, even to those who are faithless! Keep me walking close to You and in Your statutes.

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. (1 Corinthians 6:14)
God has given us the incredible hope of the resurrection! The same power which raised Christ from the dead will also resurrect us in that final day. Christ was indeed raised! Fear not then, for we too, will indeed be raised!

Despite times of sorrow and loneliness, the Lord will ever be our Father. We who believe shall never be forsaken and shall never lack His provision. Praise the Lord for His lovingkindness. Praise the Lord for His unbounded mercy upon your soul. Praise forever the Lord who has delivered you from death into His everlasting and princely family. Praise the Lord and rejoice O you peoples of the Almighty God!

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
We are saved through the grace of God and only the grace of God. There is no other way for us to get to heaven. If we think the good we do will earn us a hope in heaven, then we shall be deeply dismayed when Jesus says, "Depart from me, I never knew you." Let us not take pride in ourselves in thinking that our works will get us into heaven. Let us rather praise the Lord for His marvelous grace!

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7)
All God's children will be ever known as the conquerors of death. By the life and resurrection of Christ, they are made alive evermore. The new vitality granted by God cannot be vanquished and those who have taken its hold shall overcome forever! Therefore, they shall all inherit their right to life everlasting and to the very symbol of that life, first seen in the garden of paradise—the very tree of life! So to he who hears, listen well: pick up your cross and follow the Blood by the power of the Blood.

And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? (1 Peter 3:13)
Peter does not here assure the believer that he will be free from persecution (in fact: Jesus warned about coming persecution, Paul experienced it, and Peter himself speaks of persecution later in this epistle). Rather, he states that no harm will come to those who are eager to do good. Though their body might be injured, they shall be ultimately blessed.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet [given]; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:38-39)
God's children are bound to pour forth rivers of the water of life. In the wilderness, Moses brought forth water from a rock. Paul says that rock was symbolic of Christ. Just as Christ, the rock of our foundation, pours forth the water of life, so too shall we as His bride pour forth the same water! And this water is the very Spirit of God, who moves among men as He wills to forward the kingdom of heaven. Amen.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)
We have so many 'witnesses' that have gone on before us. So many men and women of faith (Hebrews 11) that are the examples the Lord has given us to follow. We are to lay aside every weight. Now, what are these weights? They are the things that bring about stress and worries. They are the things Jesus wants to carry for us! We also need to lay aside our sin. Sin is inevitable. Even the lives of the very witnesses spoken of in Hebrews 11 are fraught with sins and the remorse of sin! Even though we cannot be perfect of ourselves, we must lay aside our wants and desires and choose to follow the Lord (Romans 6:15). This is a hard thing to do, but we must run with patience.
Jesus has given each of us a race to run. Each of our races are different, this means that we cannot compare our race with others. At times, our race is difficult. We become tired and worn out, but then God reminds us of how much we need Him! We are not running alone! We have the Creator of the world running beside us and He is willing to carry us when we cannot go on! In order to run and run well, we need to fix our eyes on Jesus.
There are so many things that can take our gaze off Jesus! People. Circumstances. Difficult struggles. Self-pity. But as Peter learned, it is when you take you eyes off Jesus that you sink! In all that we do, no matter the circumstances, we need to keep our eyes focused on Him for He knows all things (Proverbs 4:25-27)! If we fix our eyes on Jesus, our paths are made straight.
Jesus has endured the cross for us! We are the joy set before Him! He went through so much pain and shame, for us! Think about it, Jesus, the SON of GOD came to EARTH as a MAN and was crucified as a CRIMINAL!! What a humbling experience! We often do not recognize how much shame He went through for us! But now! Now He is seated at God's right hand! And He continually intercedes on our behalf!

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I [am] thy shield, [and] thy exceeding great reward. (Genesis 15:1)
When God appeared to Abraham, He told him not to fear. God was both his shield and his reward! Abraham had just taken spoil from his recent victory, yet God declared that the real reward is found in the greatness of God, Himself. As He was to Abraham, so God will also be our unfailing protection and our great reward.

When once dead to all the things of life and love and godliness, the Lord, in His unfathomable mercy, wrested us from our bed of dust and ash and breathed His spirit of new life into us!
